Science blogs nominated across 6 categories

On this sunny Saturday I’d like to update you on nominations for Irish science blogs in the upcoming Blog Awards. There are many brilliant science blogs (as outlined by Eoin Lettice previously) nominated in the Best Science/Education category including Communicate Science, Deirdre Kelleghan, Inside the Brain, Scibernia,  and The Frog Blog. I’m delighted that Science Calling is among the science blogs included in the long list!

The long lists cover most blogs in Ireland so if you’re interested in specific topics, they’re a good way to see what blogs are out there.

This week the best blog post was also announced which is a People’s Choice Award and Science Calling is among the nominees along with fellow science blogger, Deirdre Kelleghan. Votes can be cast once a week.  They will be removing the 5 blog posts that get the least votes every week.

Science Calling – Hosting the Olympics of Science

Deirdre Kelleghan – Action Sun – Let’s bring the sun to Earth – What’s Up for May 2012 from Jane Houston Jones

There are science blogs also featured in Best Podcast, Newcomer, Health/Wellbeing and Designed Blog. With nominations across 6 categories, I hope science comes up trumps at the award ceremony on 13th October!
