Science Calling’s aim is to increase interest in science by writing about new research, our island, science activities/events and thoughts on science in a simple and appealing way (with a bit of fun thrown in). It was crowed the Best Science and Education Blog at Blog Awards Ireland 2012 and won Blog of the Year at the DCU Smedia Awards 2013.

Maria is a science and health journalist. She is a graduate of the Smurfit Institute of Genetics, Trinity College Dublin, with experience in the medical science industry. In the past year, she was awarded a scholarship to complete an MA in Journalism in Dublin City University (2012/2013) and a science writing fellowship, To Think To Write To Publish, supported by the National Science Foundation in the United States. To find out more about Maria, visit her portfolio site: mhdelaney.com
